(MENAFN) Israeli military helicopters opened fire late Tuesday, unleashing machine-gun rounds over the city of Tubas and the town of Qabatiya in the northern occupied West Bank. According to general accounts, US-made Apache aircraft were heard firing multiple bursts over Tubas throughout the evening. No details have emerged regarding specific targets, and there were no immediate reports of injuries.

In Qabatiya, south of Jenin, reports indicated that Apache helicopters discharged heavy live ammunition across the Al-Zakarneh Mountain area, a zone described as open and uninhabited.

For more than a week, Tubas governorate has faced an intensified military campaign, resulting in widespread damage to infrastructure and homes, hundreds of injuries, and numerous arrests.

Local notices also reported that the Israeli army imposed a full curfew on Qabatiya on Tuesday afternoon, with no end date announced.

These incidents unfolded as part of a broader escalation across the occupied West Bank, where recent days have seen extensive raids, home demolitions, city closures, and movement restrictions. On Tuesday, operations expanded to multiple governorates — including Hebron in the south, Ramallah in the center, and Nablus and Tubas in the north — where the army blocked key roads, raided homes, and disrupted schooling and public services.

According to general figures, more than 1,085 Palestinians have been killed and about 10,700 wounded in attacks carried out by Israeli forces and settlers. Additionally, over 20,500 people have been detained.

A landmark ruling issued by the International Court of Justice in July last year concluded that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory is unlawful and called for the removal of all settlements in both the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
