Russia, China Conduct Strategic Security Consultations

(MENAFN) Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoygu conducted strategic security consultations with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Moscow on Tuesday, according to an official statement from his office.

The discussions commenced in a restricted, small-format session before expanding to include additional participants.

Officials addressed urgent international and regional security matters, the Asia-Pacific situation, military and military-technical collaboration, plus coordination between law enforcement bodies and intelligence services, the statement indicated.

Prior to Wang's arrival in Russia, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ma Ning announced the two leaders intended to share perspectives on regional and worldwide strategic matters of shared interest, alongside bilateral strategic security concerns.

The high-level meeting underscores deepening Sino-Russian coordination as both nations navigate complex geopolitical challenges and Western pressure campaigns.

Moscow and Beijing have intensified their strategic partnership in recent years, with cooperation spanning defense, energy, and diplomatic spheres as they position themselves against what they characterize as Western hegemony.
