Trump Health: White House Shares Update Amid Speculation About US President's MRI Report-Details Here
White House revealed the details of the reports after Trump, earlier in the day had said that he will make public the results of his MRI scan conducted in October.“If you want to have it released, I'll release it,” the Republican president said during an exchange with reporters as he travelled back to Washington from Florida, AP reported.
The POTUS had said that the results of the MRI were“perfect.” He was traveling back to Washington, DC, from Florida after spending Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump's comments about the“perfect” MRI result come after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, on Sunday, 30 November – told NBC's "Meet the Press" Trump is "fading physically" and criticised his“mental capacity,” and“ranting.” Walz further took to X to call on Trump to release his MRI results.
Donald Trump was the oldest person to be inaugurated as president when he retook the White House in January. He is the second-oldest person to serve as president.
Why Trump underwent MRI scan?Although detail of Trump's MRI reports were made public, the White House earlier declined to shed light on why Trump had an MRI during his physical examination in October or on what part of his body.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging – MRI scan uses magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the inside of the body – reports of which are used to monitor a range of conditions.
The press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has said that the president received“advanced imaging” at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center“as part of his routine physical examination” and that the results showed Trump remains in“exceptional physical health.”
Trump's healthWhile the White House PR team keeps promoting an image of Trump as unusually vigorous- the Republican appears to be slowing down, AFP reported.
According to a report in The Times, Trump has significantly cut back on public events and domestic travel compared to his first term, generally keeping a public schedule from noon to 5:00 pm.
Which health conditions has Trump already been diagnosed with?Earlier this year, the White House revealed that Trump had swelling in his lower legs and bruising on his right hand, after photos showed visibly swollen ankles and makeup covering the marks on his hand.
Trump's physician, Sean Barbabella, later explained in a letter that medical tests confirmed the swelling was caused by chronic venous insufficiency - a common and generally harmless condition, especially in people over the age of 70.
