Kobi V. Ajayi
- Research Assistant Professor of Maternal and Child Health, Texas A&M University
Dr. Ajayi is a research assistant professor at the Center for Community Health and Aging in the Department of Health Behavior at Texas A&M University School of Public Health. She utilizes community-centered, theoretically grounded frameworks to design, implement, and evaluate programs that promote women's health and well-being throughout the life course. Based on her experience as a mom of a preterm infant, she is focused on research, education, and advocacy to support Black mothers with preterm infants. Dr. Ajayi is the founder of EDEN Foundation Nigeria, which provides low-cost life-saving and essential health solutions to low-income families with preterm infants. The organization also offers perinatal mental health services to pregnant women.
Having led the programmatic implementation of the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee (MMMRC) from 2023 to 2024, Dr. Ajayi is well-versed in policy-level factors that affect maternal and child health.
Dr. Ajayi's work is committed to protecting the health of pregnant women and birthing individuals, babies, and their families.
