Costa Rica closed out this year with yet another mention from international tourism publications. This time, Traveler magazine does so in its latest edition, highlighting our country on its list of the best destinations for solo travelers in 2025.

In fact, Traveler asserts that solo travel-which, it emphasizes, is not the same as feeling lonely-has become one of the most popular and attractive ways to explore the world.

This is especially true because there are now apps that allow you to share your locatio with loved ones, allowing you to stay connected virtually anywhere you go. The publication even asserts that solo travelers aren't shy about arriving at a restaurant and requesting a table for just one person.

“We've compiled 19 of the best solo trip around the world, whether you want to enjoy a spa weekend in the Caribbean, chase the Northern Lights in Finland, or sleep in a Japanese hotel where, frankly, two are a crowd.“And if you're worried about the logistics of more complicated trips, we suggest travel specialists who can take care of all the details,” Traveler reported.

What do they say about Costa Rica?

Each destination stands out for its special element. For example, in the case of Costa Rica, the magazine recommends travelers learn Spanish there.“Travel with a partner abroad and you'll revert to English most of the time. Go alone and you'll be forced to speak or communicate in a different language. Language immersion vacations can include homestays and outings outside of class, and the best part is, they can take place on the beach in Costa Rica,” Traveler reports.

Regarding other destinations, the specialized magazine notes:
