UAE President Directs 7 Abu Dhabi Mosques To Be Named After Different Emirates

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed that seven mosques in Abu Dhabi be named after the nation's emirates, coinciding with the celebrations of the 54th National Day.

Seven mosques in Mohamed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, with a capacity of about 6,000 worshippers, will be named after the emirates, said Dr Omar Habtoor Al Derei, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.

The mosques were built on an area of ​​approximately 12,000 square meters, and will all be ready to receive worshippers in January 2026.

He pointed out that their construction and design took into account the modern architectural style that combines Islamic arts, heritage, and innovative modern design.

Al Derei praised the UAE President's keenness to build mosques, enable worshippers to perform their prayers with peace of mind, consolidate the mosque's community message, and keep pace with urban development.
