Kuwait Audit Bureau Reaffirms Support For Financial Oversight, Arab Cooperation
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
JEDDAH, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's State Audit Bureau affirmed commitment to strengthening oversight systems and enhancing cooperation among audit institutions during its participation in the 69th Executive Council meeting of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) in Jeddah.
Speaking to KUNA, official Khalil Al-Wazzan said the bureau's delegation, led by President Essam Al-Roumi, joined the Jeddah gathering to review key progress made since the previous session and follow up on ongoing organizational activities.
He noted that participants discussed reports from committees, including institutional capacity development, professional standards, sustainable development oversight, and information technology audit, aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing the effectiveness of regulatory practices across Arab institutions.
The second session approved the 2024 final accounts and reviewed reports from strategic planning, journal affairs, and donor relations bodies, assessing achievements for 2023-2028 and evaluating progress toward implementing frameworks developed to guide future operations.
Delegates also examined member reports on participation in International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) working groups, considered adopting a unified assessment currency for ARABOSAI, and endorsed the organization's financial program for 2026-2028 alongside certification priorities identified by national audit authorities.
Al-Wazzan said the 15th General Assembly on Tuesday will address financial statements, leadership appointments, executive council elections, and amendments to statutes, while also forming a financial oversight committee to support governance within the organization's institutions.
The meetings will conclude Thursday with the 70th Executive Council session, which will consider pending matters and review initiatives designed to enhance capacity building and performance monitoring among supreme audit bodies engaged in ARABOSAI activities. (pickup previous)
