Trump Plans to Nullify Biden’s Autopen-Signed Orders

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump announced he is revoking all executive orders signed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, through an autopen, a mechanical device that replicates signatures. Trump shared the decision on Truth Social, describing the practice as unlawful and asserting that the Democrat had not authorized its use.

Trump has consistently claimed that Biden was increasingly incapacitated during the latter part of his presidency and was no longer actively overseeing key decisions.

He further suggested that some staff members might have employed the autopen to forge Biden’s signature on documents the president did not personally examine.

”Any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the Autopen, which was approximately 92% of them, is hereby terminated, and of no further force or effect,” Trump stated.

”The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President of the United States,” he added.

Trump emphasized that he is annulling all executive orders not personally signed by Biden, asserting that “the people who operated the Autopen did so illegally.”

He also warned that legal action could follow if Biden contends that he authorized the documents.

Autopens have been utilized by both Democratic and Republican US presidents when they are unable to sign documents in person.

A 2005 Justice Department opinion confirmed their legality when officially sanctioned by the sitting president.
