Israeli Army Demolishes Homes in Gaza

(MENAFN) Israeli military forces executed controlled demolitions of residential structures in eastern Gaza City on Saturday night, destroying multiple buildings in territory currently under their occupation.

Media reported through its field correspondent that several apartment complexes in the Shejaiya district were detonated by Israeli troops, producing massive blasts that reverberated throughout extensive portions of the city. Local witnesses provided accounts of the destruction to the news agency.

Observers on the ground noted dense plumes of smoke billowing upward from the razed sites, while debris ejected by the powerful explosions reportedly scattered across multiple Gaza City neighborhoods due to the force of the detonations.

Israeli military operations involving ground troops, naval vessels, and airstrikes have escalated dramatically in recent days throughout occupied sections of Gaza.

Field reports gathered by a correspondent and local witnesses document bombardment across Gaza City's eastern sectors, Beit Lahiya town in northern Gaza, Al-Bureij refugee camp's eastern zones in the central region, Rafah city, and the southern towns of Al-Qarara and Bani Suhaila located east of Khan Younis.

According to Gaza's media office, Israel has repeatedly breached its ceasefire accord with Hamas, accumulating approximately 497 documented violations and causing more than 342 Palestinian deaths since October 10.

The Israeli military's campaign, which began in October 2023, has resulted in nearly 70,000 Palestinian fatalities—predominantly women and children—along with over 170,900 wounded across the two-year conflict that has devastated large swaths of the territory.
