Rajnath Singh Unveils AI, Climate And Green-Energy Projects At Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025
Speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi, he said ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, terrorism and information warfare make defence reforms essential.
He noted that the government has expanded border and maritime infrastructure, accelerated Armed Forces modernisation and boosted indigenous defence manufacturing under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The minister also emphasised the importance of resilience, stating that India's Armed Forces remain a key pillar of national stability, contributing to security, disaster response, maritime protection and international partnerships.
Singh noted that while India supports peace and dialogue, it will not compromise on sovereignty or security. He said the country's reform-led growth and digital public infrastructure contribute to global stability.
As part of the event, organised by the Indian Army and Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), Singh unveiled a series of major defence digitalisation and green initiatives.
These included Project EKAM, an AI-as-a-Service platform designed to deploy indigenous AI models for military use with strong data security.
He also launched Prakshepan, a military climatology system capable of predicting landslides, floods and avalanches to support both Army operations and civil authorities.
An AI Handbook for Military Leaders was introduced to help defence leadership integrate AI into command, intelligence and autonomous systems.
Additionally, the Digitalisation 3.0 book was released, highlighting the Army's adoption of 100 digital applications as part of its AI readiness drive.
The event also saw the launch of the Green Hydrogen Microgrid Project, a clean-energy high-altitude power system developed by NTPC for Army establishments in Ladakh to reduce reliance on fossil-fuel generators.
The two-day dialogue focuses on India's evolving security challenges and technological frontiers.
