Algeria Condemns Ongoing Israeli Actions
(MENAFN) Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune asserted on Wednesday that Israel is attempting to render life unbearable in the Gaza Strip, stressing that Israeli aggression “will not bring about the end of Palestine.”
His remarks were delivered during an event in Algiers observing the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, commemorated each year on Nov. 29.
The message was read by Algeria’s Minister of Mujahideen (War Veterans) and Rights-Holders, Abdelmalek Tacherift, according to a news agency.
Within his address, Tebboune emphasized that Israel’s persistent attacks against the Palestinian people constitute a blatant breach of core tenets of international law as well as international humanitarian law.
He highlighted that Israel is not only striving to make survival in Gaza unattainable but is also appropriating Palestinian lands throughout the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
Reiterating his earlier point, Tebboune declared that “Israel’s continued aggression will not bring about the end of Palestine,” noting that Israel seeks such an outcome through the systematic demolition of Gaza’s infrastructure, assaults on the health sector, enforcement of siege and starvation, and its disregard for the essential norms of international law while persisting with its offensives.
Tebboune urged the global community to intensify its efforts to ensure Israel’s adherence to international law, to secure the immediate and complete removal of the blockade on Gaza, and to guarantee the opening of all border crossings so that humanitarian aid can reach civilians in need.
