Afghanistan say Pakistani strikes kill dozens, including children
(MENAFN) Afghanistan’s interim authorities in Kabul said Tuesday that at least 10 civilians — among them children and a woman — were killed in what they described as Pakistani airstrikes in the country’s eastern regions, according to reports.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban, claimed that Pakistani aircraft targeted a home in Khost province’s Gorbuz district overnight, resulting in the deaths of nine children, including five boys and four girls.
"Air strikes also occurred in Kunar and Paktika, where four civilians were injured," Mujahid wrote on X.
Pakistani officials have yet to issue any response to the allegations.
The reported strike comes during a tense lull in cross-border tensions, with mediation efforts between the two neighbors still underway.
