Egyptians Vote in Second Stage of Parliamentary Elections

(MENAFN) Egyptian citizens went to the polling stations on Monday to participate in the second stage of the 2025 parliamentary elections, as reported by a state-operated news channel.

This phase encompasses 13 governorates, which include 73 electoral districts and 5,287 subcommittees, according to the channel.

A total of 1,316 contenders are vying for seats under the individual system, while a single electoral list is contesting the list-based districts in the regions of Cairo, North-Central-South Delta, and East Delta.

Voting locations opened at 9 am (0600GMT) and will remain operational until 9 pm (1800GMT) on Tuesday, providing two complete days for citizens to cast their ballots.

The National Election Authority (NEA) called on the public to engage in the elections, emphasizing its dedication to maintaining the “will of voters is accurately reflected at the ballot box” by guaranteeing the fairness, transparency, and orderly management of the electoral process.

NEA projections indicate that approximately 35 million Egyptians are eligible to participate in this phase of voting.
