IDF arrests child, ten Palestinians in raid in occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli forces detained 11 Palestinians, including a child, during military operations across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to local reports.

Nine individuals, among them a child, were taken into custody during raids in Bethlehem and the towns of Dura, Al-Karmel, south of Hebron, and Beit Ummar north of the city, with several homes searched in the process, the official news agency Wafa reported. Additionally, two Palestinian brothers were arrested in the town of Burin, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

The Israeli army has intensified operations in the West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023. Since then, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 11,000 others injured in attacks by the army and illegal settlers, with over 20,000 people arrested.

In July, the International Court of Justice issued a landmark opinion declaring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and called for the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
