(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Reuters reported this, citing three industry sources.

According to one of the sources,“The plant is expected to remain idle until the end of the month. No (oil product) loadings are planned before December 1.”

The sources also said the fire forced the Ryazan Oil Refinery to shut down its primary oil-processing unit, whose annual capacity exceeds 8 million metric tons, accounting for 48% of the refinery's total capacity.

Another oil-processing unit was shut down after a drone attack on 24 October, resulting in the loss of 26% of the refinery's processing capacity. Repairs on that unit have not yet been completed, and the remaining units at the refinery are also idle, the sources said.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery suspended sales of petroleum products on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange as of November 15, according to exchange data.

Industry sources reported that in 2024 the refinery processed 13.1 million tons of oil, representing 4.9% of Russia's total refining volume, and produced 2.2 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel, and 4.3 million tons of fuel oil.

As reported by Ukrinform, on November 15, the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the Ryazan Oil Refiner, the Nebo-U radar station, a military train, and several areas of Russian troops concentration.
