(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Roksolana Pidlasa, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee, said this in a post on Facebook following negotiations with Gavin Gray, IMF mission chief for Ukraine.

"The total volume of the program the IMF is offering Ukraine is around $8 billion over four years. This is less than we expected and less than we need, but an IMF program is the key to securing financing from other partners, including the reparations loan," Pidlasa said.

She said the IMF Executive Board's decision to launch the program is expected in January 2026, with the first disbursement arriving at the same time.

Pidlasa added that preliminary conditions for the start of the program include adopting the 2026 budget within the IMF-agreed deficit limits.

"As for structural benchmarks, the IMF is most interested in increasing state budget revenues, in particular by closing tax evasion schemes," Pidlasa said.

On November 17, the IMF mission led by Gavin Gray began work in Ukraine on launching a new Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. In September, the Ukrainian government formally requested a new financing program from the IMF.
