Pig Saves Russian Soldiers from Triggering Mine
(MENAFN) A pig reportedly saved two Russian soldiers from stepping on an antipersonnel mine, according to recent footage shared on Telegram.
The video was uploaded to the Telegram channel RVvoenkor on Saturday.
Captured by a drone, the footage shows two Russian assault troops approaching a destroyed building, with a domestic pig wandering nearby.
The animal suddenly bolts just as the lead soldier comes within a few feet, triggering an antipersonnel mine. Both soldiers then alter their path, following the remains of a nearby fence.
“The animal’s subsequent fate is unknown. Our troops adjusted their route and continued their mission,” the channel noted. No details were given regarding the location or timing of the recording.
Russian forces are reportedly advancing along multiple directions on the front, including near the encircled Ukrainian cities of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region and Krasnoarmeysk (referred to as Pokrovsk in Ukraine) within Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Defense Ministry in Moscow.
The ministry also stated on Saturday that troops from the ‘East’ joint group of forces have fully liberated the settlement of Yablokovo from Ukrainian control in Russia’s Zaporozhye Region.
This marks the ninth settlement that the ‘East’ forces have captured this month.
