IDF arrests four Syrian men in Quneitra province

(MENAFN) Israeli military units detained four Syrian men on Sunday during an operation in the southwestern Quneitra province, local sources reported. The arrests involved young men from a single family in the al-Hafayer area of Khan Arnabah, according to s state-run TV channel.

The detentions occurred hours after five Israeli military vehicles entered Saida al-Golan in southern Quneitra before withdrawing. Troops also conducted a raid on the outskirts of Ma’riya village, located west of Daraa province.

Israeli operations in Quneitra have intensified recently, with residents reporting encroachments on farmland, the destruction of hundreds of acres of forests, arrests of civilians, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

Government data indicates that since December 2024, Israeli forces have carried out over 1,000 airstrikes across Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into the southern provinces. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel extended its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by taking control of the demilitarized buffer zone, in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
