Dengue Death Toll Nears Forty in Pakistan
(MENAFN) Three additional dengue fever victims have succumbed to the disease in Pakistan's southern Sindh province, pushing the year's death count to 36, provincial health authorities announced Saturday.
A 50-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman died in Hyderabad district, while a 55-year-old woman passed away in Karachi, according to the provincial health department.
Testing operations processed 5,229 samples during the reporting period, with 774 yielding positive results, health officials confirmed. Additionally, over 180 patients required hospitalization across Sindh facilities during the same timeframe, while 191 recovered patients received discharge clearances.
Health authorities have issued urgent appeals for residents to destroy mosquito breeding environments and pursue immediate medical intervention upon experiencing symptoms.
