Turkey, Croatia Launch Probe into Plane Crash

(MENAFN) Turkish and Croatian aviation experts conducted a collaborative on-site examination Saturday at the Krivi Put crash location where a Turkish Air Tractor plummeted two days earlier in the nation's western region.

Investigators from Turkey will gather data before transferring findings to Croatian authorities, Croatia's Chief Air Accident Investigator Danko Petrin confirmed, as reported by media.

Croatian examination teams have recovered aircraft fragments potentially critical to determining what caused the fatal descent, with all compiled evidence set for delivery to Turkish counterparts within days, media reported.

However, Petrin cautioned that pinpointing the crash's origin could require months of analysis, potentially extending up to a year.

The Turkish Air Tractor AT-802, operating on a circular route over Croatia, went down Thursday in Krivi Put, claiming the life of the sole occupant—the pilot.

Media outlets note that Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft typically serve agricultural spraying missions or aerial firefighting deployments.
