AI Express Flight Lands Safely After Bomb Threat Hoax
Dhaka: An Air India Express flight from Mumbai to Varanasi made an emergency landing at Varanasi airport on Wednesday (Nov 12) after receiving a bomb threat.
The airline confirmed the incident, stating that security protocols were immediately activated, and a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was alerted.
The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers were disembarked.
An airport official said the landing was prompted by a bomb threat aboard the flight, but no explosives were found.
The airline spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft would undergo additional security checks before being cleared for further operations.
In a separate incident, a bomb threat email received on IndiGo's grievance portal triggered security checks at Delhi Airport's Terminal 3.
The email, which also mentioned airports in Chennai and Goa, turned out to be a hoax after a thorough investigation. Delhi Police confirmed no threat was found at the airport.
The security situation remains heightened across the country following a recent car blast in Delhi.
