Hala is a climate finance expert with over eight years of experience. Currently, a PhD candidate focused on climate finance politics at Nottingham Trent University, her thesis title "The Discrepancy Between Climate Ambition and Climate Finance Flows: The Case of Jordan". She also serves as a Senior Climate Finance Associate with the Global Green Growth Institute. She holds an MSc in Advanced Engineering Management from the University of Birmingham, where she studied as a Chevening Scholar.
Hala's professional background encompasses climate response, green growth, and sustainable development, positioning her as a proactive change-maker for a better future. With extensive experience in both developing and fragile states, including Jordan and Iraq, she has served with international organisations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
