Afghanistan Decries Fatal Explosions in Pakistan, India

(MENAFN) Afghanistan's foreign ministry released dual condemnations Wednesday following fatal explosions that struck neighboring nations—a suicide attack in Pakistan's Islamabad and a vehicle bombing in India's New Delhi.

Addressing Tuesday's New Delhi incident, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the vehicle explosion near the historic Red Fort landmark, which claimed a minimum of 10 lives Monday.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan expresses profound sorrow to the bereaved families, the government, and the people of India, and wishes a swift recovery to the wounded," the statement said.

In a separate communiqué, Kabul officials voiced grief and condemnation over Tuesday's Islamabad explosion, which resulted in 12 fatalities.

The back-to-back statements from Afghanistan's foreign ministry mark rare simultaneous diplomatic responses to violence affecting both Pakistan and India, two nations with complex regional relationships.
