KP Government Convenes“Peace Jirga” To Forge Consensus On Lasting Stability

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information, Shafi Jan, announced that the“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peace Jirga” is being held today at the Provincial Assembly Hall under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the KP Assembly.

According to Shafi Jan, representatives from all schools of thought across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been invited to the jirga to build a collective consensus for sustainable peace in the province. He said the provincial government, under the leadership of the young Chief Minister, is taking all possible steps to improve law and order in line with the vision of founding chairman Imran Khan.

He added that today's Peace Jirga reaffirms the commitment that decisions regarding peace will be made within the elected representative institutions.“The government seeks lasting stability through dialogue and consultation with all stakeholders, as durable peace can only be achieved through unity and mutual understanding,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif strongly condemned the suicide blast outside Islamabad's district court and the terrorist attack on Wana Cadet College, calling both incidents deeply tragic and reprehensible. He said the loss of innocent lives has plunged the entire nation into grief, terming attacks on the youth and educational institutions cowardly and deplorable.

Dr. Saif noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has convened the Peace Jirga today and extended sincere invitations to all political parties, including the opposition, to participate.

“Terrorism is a national issue and should not be politicized,” he stressed, urging all parties to demonstrate seriousness and unity in formulating a joint strategy to eradicate terrorism.“Only through collective and coordinated efforts can we achieve permanent relief from this menace,” he added.
