Sharaa, Trump assert March 10 Agreement, SDF integration
(MENAFN) Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN stated that Monday’s White House meeting between Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and US President Donald Trump reaffirmed both the implementation of the March 10 Agreement and the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the Syrian state.
In an interview with Syrian state-run Alikhbariya TV, Ibrahim Olabi said the discussions also covered economic matters, the security arrangement with Israel, and President Trump’s commendations of the Syrian people.
“It was confirmed during the meeting that the March 10 Agreement will be implemented, along with the process of integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the Syrian state,” Olabi said.
He emphasized that “Syrian diplomacy operates in a parallel manner according to priorities determined by realities on the ground.”
Olabi noted that both Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeatedly used the phrase, “We have to get this done,” during the talks, which also focused on economic cooperation and opportunities for direct investment in Syria.
