IDF carries out three-days army drills in West Bank, Jordan Valley

(MENAFN) Israel’s military began a large-scale three-day exercise on Monday across the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley, according to official reports.

In a statement, the army said the drills would involve the use of drones and a range of weaponry, noting that “increased movement of security forces and aircraft will be felt in the area.”

Reports indicated that the exercise is designed to simulate scenarios resembling the events of Oct. 7, 2023.

Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, which began in October 2023, has resulted in the deaths of more than 69,000 people—most of them women and children—and left over 170,000 injured, according to humanitarian data.

During the same period, Israeli operations in the occupied West Bank intensified, leading to the deaths of over 1,069 Palestinians and injuries to more than 10,300 others, according to Palestinian sources.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a historic advisory opinion declaring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories unlawful and calling for the withdrawal of all settlements from the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
