IDF arrest twelve Palestinians in military raids across West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli troops detained twelve Palestinians during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to reports.

In the southern region, three young men were arrested in Hebron and two others in Bethlehem after soldiers stormed and searched several homes, according to accounts from local sources.

In central parts of the West Bank, three additional Palestinians were taken into custody in Ramallah, while in the north, two others were detained at Al-Ain refugee camp in Nablus.

Reports also indicated that two more were apprehended in eastern Qalqilya after reportedly being beaten by soldiers.

Data from the Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society shows that since October 2023, Israeli forces have detained more than 20,000 Palestinians. Of these, over 9,100 remain imprisoned, with hundreds more held in military facilities.

During the same period, Israeli military operations and attacks by settlers in the occupied West Bank have resulted in the deaths of 1,069 Palestinians and left more than 10,300 injured, according to available figures.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a landmark advisory opinion declaring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories unlawful and calling for the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
