Thai King to make first visit to China since forming ties in 1975
(MENAFN) Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua is set to visit China next week, marking the first trip by a Thai monarch since the countries established diplomatic relations in 1975.
According to reports, the visit will take place from Oct. 13 to 17 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of bilateral ties. During the trip, King Maha is expected to meet President Xi and other senior officials to discuss ways to deepen China-Thailand relations, boost economic cooperation, and expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Bilateral trade between the two nations reached $133.98 billion in 2024, highlighting the growing economic linkages between Beijing and Bangkok.
