Doha, Nov. 6 (Petra) -- Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa has called for greater international solidarity and sustained humanitarian support to address the deepening suffering of Palestinian families living under Israeli occupation.
Speaking at a side event of the Second Global Summit on Social Development in Doha, titled "The Suffering of the Palestinian Family Under Occupation: Impact on the Social Fabric and Innovative Solutions for Social Protection," Bani Mustafa emphasized that true sustainable development cannot be achieved without peace and security, warning that the absence of both threatens the stability of societies.
The minister underscored that the latest war on Gaza has severely worsened humanitarian conditions, destroying infrastructure and violating human rights. "Children and women have been the most affected, while the elderly and persons with disabilities are struggling to access basic services and humanitarian aid," she said.
Bani Mustafa also commended the political and diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II to stop the aggression on Gaza, describing them as a reflection of Jordan's firm and principled stance on the Palestinian cause and its ongoing commitment to supporting the resilience of Palestinian families and protecting their right to a dignified life.
Highlighting Jordan's ongoing humanitarian response, the minister noted that the Kingdom has dispatched 201 relief convoys carrying 8,664 trucks, conducted 568 airdrops, and established field hospitals and medical stations in Gaza and the West Bank.
She also cited the Royal Initiative "Restoring Hope," which provides prosthetic limbs to amputees, psychological and social support to affected families, and essential supplies including food, water, and healthcare services.
Bani Mustafa reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, pledging that the Kingdom will continue to stand by them in their struggle to secure dignity, stability, and hope for future generations.
