Jessica Cook

Jessica Cook is an academic and writer from Kitabel Country, South-East Queensland. She lives in a gum forest with a menagerie of animals, including donkeys, miniature goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, cats, dogs, and children. In 2025 she had creative works published in SWAMP and WQ, and in 2026 will have poetry published in The Orange and Bee, and an article about Australian Gothic children's literature published in Exhume, both on Substack. She has a passion for children's literature and the strange and wonderful ways it explores identity through possibility.
