Ukraine Must Sustain Reform Momentum EU Commissioner Kos

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced this on social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.

"2025 was a year of significant progress for EU enlargement. Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova stand out," Kos said, adding that these countries "advanced most on reforms in the past year."

According to Kos, candidate countries have ambitious goals to complete their accession negotiations, stressing that the coming year "will be a moment of truth."

In a separate post, Kos said that Ukraine had "demonstrated its commitment to its EU path, decisively moving forward on key reforms, amid the challenges caused by Russia's war of aggression."

She stressed that "it will be essential to sustain this momentum and prevent any risk of backsliding, in particular on anti-corruption."

As reported earlier, the European Commission today adopted its annual Enlargement Package, which provides a comprehensive assessment of the progress made by Ukraine and other "enlargement partners" over the past 12 months.
