Zelensky Discusses Protection Of Ukraine's Energy System With NATO Delegation

“We discussed opportunities to strengthen the protection of our energy system before winter: the purchase of air defense systems, missiles for them, and the strengthening of our tactical aviation. We also discussed the importance of continuing sanctions against Russia and other key points of pressure to force it to end the war,” the President said.

Zelensky thanked Germany for the Patriot systems, the US for the opportunity to purchase weapons and air defense systems through the PURL program, the UK and France for the missiles, Canada and the Netherlands for their contributions to the PURL initiative, and all other countries for their assistance.

“This support is truly saving the lives of our people, and it is very important that new countries join the initiative,” the head of state emphasized.

Matthew Whitaker, Permanent Representative of the United States to NATO, noted that the November and December aid packages are being coordinated in accordance with Ukraine's needs.

“I want to make sure that everything is working, that the military is getting everything it needs, that the Patriot air defense systems, PAC-3 and PAC-2 missiles are delivered as quickly as possible so that you can protect critical infrastructure as winter approaches,” Whitaker said.

The meeting also discussed increasing pressure on Russia. The head of state thanked the US for sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as the European Union for the 19th package of sanctions. The President of Ukraine called for continued work in this direction to increase pressure on Russia and force it to end the war.
