(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- The government of Japan has announced the honoring of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, in recognition of his efforts to bolster bilateral relations.
A statement by the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait said on Monday, "The government of Japan announced the conferment of the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, bestowed by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, upon His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, former Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening and promoting friendly relations between Japan and Kuwait."
His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad has made "remarkable contributions over many years to the enhancement, deepening, and expansion of Japan-Kuwait relations" through his service in numerous posts, the statement added.
"In recognition of these distinguished achievements, he has been awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun," it concluded. (end)
