Turkish, Qatari Defense Chiefs Hold Discussions in Ankara


(MENAFN) Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler met on Tuesday with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Ankara, signaling a deepening of defense ties between the two nations.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense said in a statement posted on the social media platform NSosyal that Guler hosted Al Thani as part of the Qatari minister’s official visit to Türkiye. The meeting underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation and strategic dialogue in the region.

Following a private one-on-one discussion, the two ministers jointly presided over talks between their respective delegations. The sessions reportedly focused on enhancing bilateral defense collaboration and exchanging perspectives on regional security issues.

The ministry also highlighted the participation of Deputy Defense Ministers Alpaslan Kavaklioglu and Musa Heybet, who joined the interdelegation meeting to support the high-level discussions.

The visit marks a continuation of close military and diplomatic engagement between Türkiye and Qatar, reflecting both countries’ shared strategic interests and commitment to cooperation in defense matters.
