Molodist Film Festival Opens In Kyiv With Nearly 160 Films From 59 Countries
This year's festival program includes 158 films from 59 countries, presented across 14 sections. In addition, cinema industry events will be held throughout the festival.
The opening film was The Apartment by Billy Wilder, a Hollywood classic screened to mark the 100th anniversary of Oscar-winning actor Jack Lemmon's birth.
The evening began with a moment of silence to honor all fallen soldiers and civilians who have become victims of Russian aggression.
The ceremony was hosted by television personalities Mark Kutsevalov and Kateryna Olos, presenters of the new project Mission: Cope on the TET television channel.
Head of the State Film Agency of Ukraine Andrii Osipov delivered a speech and conveyed from the stage the gratitude of Ukraine's Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko to film and television producer Serhii Lavreniuk. Andrii Khalpakhchi, General Director of the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, presented the honorary Scythian Deer award to Serhii Mishchenko, President and CEO of ILTA.
Serhii Bordeniuk, Head of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, also addressed the audience.

Ten projects from various countries will be presented in the documentary debut section.
