King of Jordan, Slovenia leader talks about two-sided relations


(MENAFN) His Majesty King Abdullah and Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar met in Ljubljana on Monday to reaffirm the close relations between Jordan and Slovenia and to discuss ongoing regional and international developments.

The meeting, held at Slovenia’s Presidential Palace and attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, underscored the shared commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and developmental sectors, according to a statement from the Royal Court.

His Majesty highlighted the importance of building on the strong foundation of bilateral ties and expanding collaboration in key areas. He also commended Slovenia’s active role within the European Union in promoting peace and stability across the Middle East.

Discussions focused extensively on regional developments, with the King emphasizing the urgent need to uphold the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the full implementation of all phases of the truce agreement, and facilitate the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip to ease the worsening humanitarian crisis.

Both leaders also addressed the situation in the West Bank and Gaza, stressing the importance of achieving comprehensive calm and rejecting settlement expansion, which they said violates international law and jeopardizes the prospects for peace.

President Pirc Musar reiterated her country’s keenness to further strengthen its partnership with Jordan, particularly in fields such as digital innovation, green technology, education, and humanitarian cooperation.

She commended Jordan’s steadfast humanitarian role in assisting Palestinians and facilitating the delivery of international aid to Gaza through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, including relief efforts supported by Slovenia.

The Slovenian president also reaffirmed her nation’s backing of the two-state solution as the only viable path toward a lasting and just peace in the region.
