Jade French
- Postdoctoral Researcher, Loughborough University
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Loughborough University, developing a new project on care homes, care, and ageing in mid-century British culture. In 2021, I passed my PhD at Queen Mary, University of London, supervised by Dr. Suzanne Hobson and Prof. Morag Shiach. My research explores a 'poetics of ageing' in modernist texts, with a specific focus on the late works of H.D, Mina Loy and Djuna Barnes. I'm interested in applying cultural gerontology in a modernist and mid-century context, particularly looking at embodiment, archives and life writing. I have published work to date in Women: A Cultural Review, MAI Journal and Feminist Modernist Studies.
