US Democratic Congresswomen snaps at journalist

(MENAFN) Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reacted sharply to a journalist’s questions regarding her actions during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Alison Steinberg of Lindell TV approached Pelosi on the Capitol steps, asking whether she was concerned about the new Republican-led investigation into the riot. Pelosi ignored the initial question.

Steinberg then pressed, asking, “Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6?”

“Shut up!” Pelosi responded, pointing a finger at the journalist. “I did not refuse the National Guard. The president didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points, as if you’re a serious journalist?” she added before walking away.

Democrats have previously accused President Donald Trump of inciting an insurrection when his supporters stormed the Capitol, briefly interrupting the certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. Last month, House Republicans approved a new subcommittee to reexamine the events of the riot.
