Israeli Military Raids Two Residences in Syria’s Quneitra Countryside

(MENAFN) Israeli military units entered Syria’s Quneitra countryside on Wednesday, local media sources report.

According to Syrian media, Israeli troops moved into the village of Al-Owainia in northern Quneitra, where they reportedly raided two residences.

Separately, an Israeli contingent comprising eight vehicles—including a bulldozer and two tanks—advanced toward the town of Eastern Samadaniyah. The unit reportedly remained stationed in the area for several hours before withdrawing back to Quneitra city.

The Israeli army has yet to issue an official statement regarding these operations.

This incursion follows a series of recent cross-border raids by Israeli forces into southern Syrian provinces, notably Quneitra, despite repeated international appeals to respect Syria’s sovereignty.

Following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government in late 2024, Israel intensified its control over the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone—an act that breaches the 1974 Disengagement Agreement with Syria.
