(MENAFN) The Trump administration has canceled the visas of six foreign nationals after they posted social media comments “celebrating” the Sept. 10 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the U.S. State Department announced Tuesday.

“The United States has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans,” the department declared on the social media platform X. It further warned, “aliens who take advantage of America’s hospitality while celebrating the assassination of our citizens will be removed.”

The affected individuals, hailing from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Paraguay, and South Africa, have not been publicly named.

In a post on X, the department shared screenshots of some of the offending comments and confirmed the visa cancellations.

This announcement coincided with President Donald Trump posthumously awarding Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, describing him as a “great American hero” and a “martyr for freedom.”

Kirk, who would have turned 32 on Tuesday, was fatally shot on Sept. 10 while speaking to students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, approximately 40 miles (64.4 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City.

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested shortly after the attack and remains in custody.
