US withdraws visas from immigrants cheering Kirk’s death
(MENAFN) The United States has canceled the visas of several foreign nationals who publicly celebrated the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, according to official statements released on Tuesday.
Kirk, a co-founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent figure known for his political debates on college campuses, was fatally shot by a sniper last month while addressing students in Utah.
In a post on X made on what would have been Kirk’s birthday, the State Department declared that the United States “has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans.”
The department shared screenshots of online comments allegedly written by six individuals from Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, and South Africa. An Argentinian national was said to have accused Kirk of promoting racist ideologies and claimed he “deserved” his fate, while a German user reportedly wrote, “When fascists die, democrats don’t complain.”
Another post from Brazil allegedly asserted that Kirk “was the reason for a Nazi rally where they marched in homage to him” and had “died too late.”
According to the State Department, these examples represented “just a few” of the individuals whose visas were revoked. Officials added that the US government would continue identifying and barring any foreign nationals who glorify Kirk’s death.
That same day, President Donald Trump posthumously awarded Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. The award was accepted by Kirk’s widow, Erika.
In the weeks following the killing, numerous individuals across the country have reportedly faced termination or suspension for making comments seen as mocking or excusing Kirk’s assassination. While most Democratic leaders condemned the act, Trump and several other Republicans have accused the “radical left” of fostering an environment that encourages political violence.
