Joseph recently completed a PhD at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, where his research explored intersectionality and identity work in the context of homestay platforms. He examined how narratives of authenticity can be mobilised to navigate discrimination and its implications. Following this, he conducted research on widening participation in higher education, focusing on outward student mobility. Currently, he is working as a Research Associate on FUTOURWORK, a Horizon Europe project focused on improving social dialogue and working conditions in the tourism and hospitality sector.
