Celestina Atom is a Doctoral Researcher in Politics and International Relations at Teesside University whose work explores the human and institutional dimensions of counterterrorism, deradicalisation, and post-conflict recovery in Africa. She holds a BSc in International Relations and an MA in Diplomacy, Law and Global Change from Coventry University.

Her research focuses on deradicalisation, reintegration, and peacebuilding in Nigeria, with particular expertise in conflict management and countering violent extremism. Celestina teaches and supervises in areas such as Diplomacy and Peacebuilding, Armed conflicts, and the Responsibility to protect and Justice.

She is also an Associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and is committed to widening participation in higher education. She has contributed to outreach courses aimed at supporting underrepresented groups to engage in conflict resolution and peacekeeping initiatives through the Brilliant Club.
