Doha, Qatar: Al Rayyan and Al Sadd secured their spots in the final of the 2025-2026 Qatar Basketball Super Cup after defeating Al Ahli and Al Arabi, respectively, in thrilling semi-final matches held yesterday, at the state-of-the-art Lusail Multipurpose Indoor Arena.

In the first semi-final, Al Rayyan dominated Al Ahli from the outset, clinching a decisive 101-74 victory. The game saw Al Rayyan assert control across all four quarters, with scores of 28-22, 21-19, 25-18, and 27-15.

Tyler James Lee Harris shone for Al Rayyan, contributing 22 points, while Nigel Armonie Johnson led Al Ahli with an equal 22 points, though it wasn't enough to halt Al Rayyan's march to the final.

The second semi-final delivered high drama as Al Sadd edged out Al Arabi in a tightly contested match that went down to the wire.

Al Sadd took an early lead in the first quarter (30-27), but Al Arabi fought back, dominating the second (22-20) and third (19-16) quarters.

However, Al Sadd staged a remarkable comeback in the fourth quarter (24-17) to secure their place in the final.

Stephen Bernard Leonard Green was the standout for Al Sadd, scoring 28 points, while Al Arabi's Sindo Ismail Diallo and Elmedin Kikanovic each tallied 21 points in a valiant but ultimately unsuccessful effort.

Basketball fans in Qatar now eagerly await a blockbuster final between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd, scheduled for tomorrow at 6:30 PM at the same venue.
