Turkish Airlines, Air Algerie Expand Strategic Partnership
(MENAFN) Türkiye's national airline, Turkish Airlines, and Algeria's flag carrier, Air Algerie, formalized a strategic understanding on Friday by signing a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening their collaboration.
This agreement outlines a broader framework for working together, which includes the enhancement of their current codeshare arrangement and an increase in connection options, as noted in a statement from Turkish Airlines.
The two national airlines are set to assess potential joint ventures across various areas such as cargo transfer services, aircraft leasing, in-flight catering, access to airport lounges, aircraft upkeep, and ground services.
Additionally, they intend to cooperate on ecological initiatives, sustainable development efforts, and educational collaborations.
The signing ceremony took place at Air Algerie’s main office in Algiers and featured high-level leaders from both carriers.
The agreement was officially signed by Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi and Air Algerie’s CEO Hamza Benhamouda.
Eksi emphasized that the continued alliance with Air Algerie shows a strong dedication to enduring and sustainable collaboration.
He also highlighted that this new accord marks a meaningful advancement in the relationship between the two airlines.
"We have full confidence that this partnership will strengthen the cultural and economic ties between Türkiye and Algeria while also supporting mutual growth," Eksi said.
