Amman, Oct. 9 (Petra) -- The King Abdullah II Center for Excellence (KACE) held a workshop on Thursday titled "Partnership for Achieving Excellence and Innovation in the Public Sector," in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The workshop gathered directors of human resources and institutional development from various government entities to review and discuss the draft strategic plan of the KACE for 2026–2028 and present its new services and initiatives.
KACE Executive Director Wedad Qutishat emphasized the pivotal role of HR directors in promoting excellence and innovation within their institutions, noting that the workshop provides a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and engage in constructive dialogue that serves all stakeholders' aspirations.
Qutishat added that the meeting comes as part of the Center's clear vision and new strategic plan, which focuses on fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in public institutions based on practical experience and a deep understanding of current needs and development opportunities.
She highlighted that the workshop aims to introduce participants to the Center's new programs and directions, calling for active participation in evaluating them and sharing opinions and feedback that will be integral to shaping future services and initiatives.
The OECD representative and Policy Analyst in Public Governance, Maria Pascual, speaking via Zoom, stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the organization and the Center, emphasizing its role in promoting shared values such as participation, fairness, transparency, and neutrality.
The first session of the workshop presented the Center's new strategic direction and the main pillars of the 2026–2028 strategic plan, which seeks to strengthen the culture of excellence and improve institutional performance through programs aligned with national priorities, in cooperation with HR and institutional development directors.
The second session featured a group activity that collected participants' views and expectations of the KACE to help shape its strategic directions and future services, ensuring alignment with the priorities of beneficiary institutions. Participants' main comments and recommendations were reviewed and discussed, focusing on practical implementation.
The sessions also explored the impact of adopting excellence and innovation models on institutional performance, emphasizing the importance of embedding these models across government levels to ensure sustainable results. They further reviewed the KACE's capacity-building programs and their role in supporting institutional priorities and sustainable development.
