Spain Welcomes First Phase Of Gaza Ceasefire Deal

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MADRID, Oct 9 (KUNA) - The Spanish government on Thursday welcomed the agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation to implement the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
In a statement, the Spanish Foreign Ministry stressed on the mediation efforts by the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey to realize the first phase of a truce based on the US plan proposed by President Donald Trump.
The statement described the agreement, reached after two years of conflict, as a step toward ending the violence, securing the release of prisoners, and enabling wide humanitarian aid entry into Gaza, urging both parties to act responsibly and respect the agreement's terms.
Spain affirmed its commitment to supporting implementation and pledged to intensify its efforts in this new phase to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East grounded in the effective realization of the two state solution, noting Spain will continue working with its partners to support regional stability.
