Erdogan, Putin Address Key International Issues
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders reviewed their countries’ bilateral ties along with prominent regional and international matters.
According to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate, Erdogan emphasized that “Türkiye is working to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza, to deliver humanitarian aid to the region.”
This underscores Ankara's ongoing humanitarian and peace-driven efforts in the conflict-stricken area.
In the conversation, Erdogan also stressed the need for increased diplomatic activity aimed at bringing the war in Ukraine to an end with a resolution that achieves a “fair and lasting peace.”
He reiterated that Türkiye remains committed to promoting peace initiatives and facilitating dialogue on the matter.
Additionally, the Turkish leader extended birthday greetings to his Russian counterpart, adding a personal gesture to their political exchange.
