Syrian Defense Minister, SDF Commander Reach Ceasefire
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra revealed that he had convened in Damascus with Mazloum Abdi, the head of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), where they successfully came to terms on a prompt cessation of hostilities in northern and northeastern Syria.
“We agreed on a comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts and military positions in northern and northeastern Syria, with the implementation of the agreement to begin immediately,” the minister stated via the U.S.-based social platform X.
The accord signifies a swift halt to combat across all conflict zones and military installations in the affected regions.
According to Abu Qasra, the truce will be enacted without delay, suggesting both parties are ready to de-escalate tensions and prevent further conflict.
