Egypt's UPA Launches New Version Of Mediq Medical Procurement System
The new version of the system was launched at an extensive training event on Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Princess Fatima Academy for Professional Medical Education. The UPA said in a statement that the upgrade is part of its ongoing efforts to unify digital platforms and increase operational efficiency across its various departments, providing a comprehensive and unified view of the medical supply chain nationwide.
The updated MedIQ system features a more advanced and user-friendly interface that supports immediate connection between requesting entities and the UPA's various technical and financial departments. The new system also includes integrated financial linking with the Microsoft Dynamics system, which the authority said will enhance the efficiency of financial data management and ensure accurate tracking and auditing throughout the procurement process.
According to the authority, the new updates aim to improve the experience for requesting entities, allowing them to obtain required supplies faster and more accurately. This is expected to support timely decision-making, reduce the order cycle time, and achieve better integration between executive, financial, and technical departments.
The system also provides advanced analytical tools that will contribute to the development of medical supply planning. These tools use performance indicators and data-based forecasting to support the authority's ability to strategically plan for national medical needs and effectively monitor their implementation.
